Well, took a new job for myself in a industry I haven't been around much at all. So looking for recommendations on work boots.

Never been around safety toe shoes, and only time I had, they sucked.

Prefer a lace up mid calf heigh boot, composite toe. Job is a Senior Superintendent for commercial sites, so not swinging a hammer, or really being in a ditch, but still want something durable, and with a composite toe.

I'd be interested in a slip on square toe boot too, but, limited selection's near me.

Suggestions please, isn't hunting related, but anyone I know is in residential work and most folks think anything safety is gay.

Jim Green Rugged African Troopers. Composite toe cap standard, one wedge sole option (less drop).
Barefoot + toe cap = custom.

May want to check out double-H boots website. They have a lot of slip-on, square composite toe options.

I only had one gig where a safety toe was required, and I was only going to be on that job for 6 mos, but I had good luck with Thorogood composite. Remember that boots shorten and widen as they break in, and a safety toe has no give, i.e. you'll definitely want space at the the end of your toe, so buy them so they feel tight on the sides and long in the toe.
