This cat was probably able to sneak up on this guy because he's hearing impaired from years of constant clanking brass.

This is the most detailed I've seen so far. Seems to me he turned around to the cat jumping at his face turned around and maybe threw the cat off him then before it could pounce again he just jumped on the lion and got it done.

I would contribute to a go fund me account for him to seek legal action in recovering the cat. I had hoped that we would find out that it wasn't expecting him to fight back and was so surprised it had a heart attack, but now I just think that they should name the trail after the guy and erect a statue.

At the CPW BGSS meeting last night, the investigating person talked a little about this circumstance
Since its an ongoing investigation, not many details are being released, but a few were

The runner fought and killed the cat, then went to his vehicle and drove himself to the hospital, where the emergency personnel then contacted the CPW.

Then the CPW went to the incident site and recovered the cat, but by this time it had already been partially eaten by other predators, so evidence of sex of the cat is still being determined, because there wasnt a lot left.

It was also mentioned that the runner should be given full support for his efforts in doing the right thing - once he noticed the cat, he made himself 'large', threw rocks, etc, and then fought it when it attacked.

Per the investigation, the guy's story and what was discovered at the kill site aligned
