Hey all,

My wife is looking for a solid rain gear setup for mountain hunting in Alberta and BC.

I run the Kuiu Yukon gear and have really enjoyed it thus far. We had her try some on and it didn't fit at all. Arms too long even in the small.

What brands do you or your spouse run? It can be a camo line or solid colour. Just something that will be tough, hassle free, and keep her dry while we glass.

Thanks in advance!

FirstLite has women’s rain gear, wife is running it and likes it!

Awesome to know! Seems better prices here in Canada than the Sitka lineup.

I looked at First Lites WOMEN'S CASCADE STORMLIGHT JACKET, but the rep I messaged with online said they didn't make a corresponding rain pant. What does your wife use for pants?

Honestly I still recommend trad outdoor mountaineering companies especially for women. They’ve been fitting women for decades not just the last 2 seasons. Kuiu and First Lite as much as they’re trying aren’t up on the best most current technology either. They’re trying but just don’t have the R&D budget to develop it.

TNF Futurelight is the absolute shit. Insanely lightweight, bomber H2O protection and the most breathable membrane that has come to market by a landslide. This stuff vs gortex will make you feel like you’ve been breathing through a straw all of your life.

if you want more affordable but still better performance than traditional hunting companies go with Columbia OutDry. It’s essentially Goretex inside out: membrane facing the rain, fabric next of skin. Much better wicking and breathability as compared to Gore but not nearly as breathable or packable as Futurelight.
