Had an interesting encounter today—I heard a light plop at the foot of a tree and saw a fledging bird (almost the size of a robin) that had hit the ground and flapping it's wings, thinking it jumped a little early. Another plop, another fledging. I look up and see wings flapping, but something isn't right. Then the flapping is beneath the limb and see a very large (guess about 4') bull snake wrapped around the branch hanging onto a fledgling.

This was ~20' up in a large Ponderosa Pine—Crazy!
