took the pup out this morning at daybreak and got a nice 3.5 mile hike in; a couple of hour later (minus pup) I got a nice 10 mile run in

hit a milestone today- went over a 1000 miles for the year- breakdown: trail running miles 650, snowshoeing/skiing miles 138, hiking/backpacking miles 215; probably won't 2000 for the year, but that's the goal :)

I was worried about turning into a pu$$y, so I hit the gym yesterday.

4 rounds:

20 pushups
Back squat x 5
pullups x 3
Deadlift x 5
60 seconds rest

Finish out with 20 seconds on/10 seconds rest of KB swings w/ 50 # bell, for a total of 5 minutes

Today we rode 8 miles on the mountain bikes, 3300 feet of elevations change.

193lbs. 4.2 mile scouting hike on a new to me piece of public. ~20 lb pack, 1400 ft elevation change. Almost

^ ouch!

got 4.5 miles in at daybreak this morning w/ Tiny E- it's about 1200' gain to the top- he did really good (looking a little serious in the picture- I guess mtn climbing is serious business); ate breakfast and hung out for awhile and then got a speedy (for me! ) 5.5 miles in; have since retreated to a cool house. I'm beginning to hate summer- just go from spring to fall and I'd be happy.

Yesterday I descended and climbed "Heart Attack Hill", which is 800 feet vertical in 0.25 miles. I had 40 pounds in my pack.

Today I did 5 rounds , 60 seconds rest between sets:

Dumbbell bench x 5
Back squat x 5
Pull-ups x 5
Walking lunges x 5 each side

Still might get a short mountain bike ride in this evening.

AMRAP in 60 minutes of:
17 power cleans 135/95

break down your bar and move it 200m one piece at a time.
Rebuild your bar, and start the next round.
- This will be done in a team of 2, one person working at a time

Tiny E and I headed for the Elkhorns to beat the heat- a glorious 47 degrees at 6:30 at the trailhead (70 on our return)- 8.5 miles with over 2000' of gain- great outing :)

I would gladly take even three more months of winter and just skip summer altogether; seems like every summer is hotter than the one before
