Wiser BT-20 Ridge Warden

Use the set screw on the underside of the tripod head plate to keep it from moving.
It really is no big deal, once you crank it down with a set of vice grips it stays tight.

And if you’re concerned about the finish you can wrap the head with paper or something before you crank it down.

I was just pointing out that the Aziak has a set screw for that purpose.

Why not place some hot pink nail polish on the threads?? If don’t own any ask yourself if you’re a true RokSlider.

I bought one back at the Western Hunting Expo so I have a few months of use with it. So far I like it especially for what it is... Ultralight.

pros - light weight, compact, ARCA, price(for USA made)
cons - panning(tension not very adjustable)

If the panning (at least on mine) could be adjusted to less tension so that it would pan with less effort it would be my favorite head.

Here it is with my Aziak Tripod 1.5 lbs total.

Which Aziak tripod model is that?

Maybe this won’t work but the sirui “re-indexing” lever lock or whatever it’s called is almost the same size. Going to see if it can be modded to work on the wiser head.

Anybody put bigger optics on this like a 95 ATX? I’m weird and carry heavy optics and then try and save weight in other areas like the tripod head and my toothbrush.

I used mine last weekend with a 95 ATX. It did surprisingly well. I wouldn't say it was sirui VA-5 smooth but it was plenty usable for digiscoping animals.

Awesome! I’m not a great glasser anyways so not expecting perfection. I tend to jump around a bit vs a nice smooth pan.

Probably my favorite part of the VA-5 is that the tilt has tension on it so the optics don’t slam forward/back when you let go of the lever. Compromises I guess

I had a shoulder surgery this last Monday, but have been glassing the hills at the bow club a few nights this week while the family shoots. I also got out before the surgery to look for pronghorn.

There's nothing lacking that I have found in the glassing department with NL 14s or and ATC. I'm liking it a little better than the Tricer LP because it is either holding tension better OR it isn't as convenient to adjust.
