Can anyone reccomend a packable windproof pant? I've got jackets covered, but I could have really used a lightweight pair of pants last week. Thanks!

I may not be giving great advice but when I need windproof and light. I always use my original Sitka dew point rain pants with gor-tex. The zipper works to allow for ventilation

Yeah, I’d agree, you are looking at rain pants for this. My go-to is the Arcteryx Alpha LT LEAF. Not a cheap options, though.

Your rain gear bottoms. I’ve been partial to my Kuiu set for the past few years.

I figure waterproof = windproof and I take my raingear. Its a little heavier but its more durable than the light windbreaker stuff and performance is the same.

Cost isn't a concern, performance is. I'm a buy once cry once person. I'll be checking out these recommendations, thank you!

Someone posted here years ago about a cheap women's dance pant
sold on yahoo. They work fantastic under regular pants to block
the wind. The ball up half the size of a Nalgene bottle. I have
been using them backcountry hiking/fly fishing for years. Usually
in weather high 30's to low 50's.

Montbell and Patagonia make lightweight (2-4 oz) wind pants that pack very small. They would get shredded pretty quickly in any kind of timber, but could be worn underneath a sturdier pant albeit requires the pant to be taken off.

Wintergreen out of Ely, MN makes two different pants that do a good job of cutting the wind. One is more of a summer version and the other a cold weather version with side zips on each leg. I have both and really like them. If USA made is important to you these pants fit that bill.
My son uses a pair of Carhartt wind pants (not sure what they are actually called) on an almost daily basis during the winter months. He works outside feeding cattle, calving, loading grain, etc. He prefers the wind pants to his insulated bibs because his mobility is so much better. The Carhartt pants are very affordable.
Hope this helps.

I've been in that shop. Got family just west of there, I'm in town several times a year. Thanks!
