Hey guys,

Busy life, not a lot of time for interweb crawling. I got the SXR2 in 9.3X62 for under $850 all in from Battlehawk Armory in Iowa.

I'm not sure if it is better then a MkIII, but just different ergonomics.

It is indeed a 3 + 1 magazine, as I suspected, from the manufacturers code. I bought some S&B 285 grain soft points to have some ammo for it until I decide what I will use for Bear protection in the Arctic next summer. I would love to find some Norma factory ammunition Oryx 325 grain, but I don't think they import it anymore and Norma USA has not been helpful with my inquiries.

I have not yet fired it, but the pointability and quick acquisition of the sights is pretty sweet. The ergonomics are a lot like a shotgun. The stock and foregrip are comfortable right out of the box. The bottom swell of the grip fits my hand really well, but I am looking into pistol grip stock options, as for bear defense, rapid follow-up shot control is a must and a pistol grip is so much better than a "drop heel" stock for this type of controllability.

I have a Benelli R1 in .338 Win Mag and the SXR2 feels like a more natural fit to me than the R1 did right out of the box. I have since mounted a pistol grip stock on the R1 and it is supremely more controllable than it was with the Comfortech stock. The SXR2 is quite a bit lighter than the FN FNAR. Someone asked about cleaning. The SXR/FNAR/BAR are not too bad, but not as easy as other guns.

I've been working with Infitech out of Sweden on the pistol grip stock adapter for the SXR2 and they've been fantastic to work with. They sent me a 3D printed model of their pistol grip adapter and I learned that it didn't fit correctly. The rear of the receiver on the SXR is different angle than the FN FNAR, so the adapter is not in-line with the rear of the receiver and juts upward at an odd angle. Iniftech makes a spacer that should fix the issue as the SXR2 is more akin to the BAR MKII receiver (which is what the adapter they make is for) in the back of the receiver. Infitech is sending me the spacer to check the fit. Below are some photos of the 3D printed adapter on an FN FNAR and the SXR2:

You can see that the AR stock would be in-line with the receiver on the FN FNAR.

You can see that the stock would jut up at a weird angle without the spacer. Hopefully the spacer will correct the issue.

I've also tried the ACE pistolgrip adapter from Doublestar Tactical and this adapter had the same issue of the angle on the rear of the receiver, plus an additional issue with the receiver block insert. This is a block of extra metal that goes into the receiver to give the adapter a solid fit with the reciver. It would require some filing to get it to fit the recess on the back of the SXR2 as it is a differnt shape than on the FN FNAR which is what the adapter is designed to fit. Here are some photos of the ACE on the FNAR and the ACE next to the Infitech:

Anyway, if guys are still interested, I'll post more, but that's where I'm at right now. It'll be an interesting comparison to my R1 338 when I get it set up the way I want.

As far as Magazines, Lipseys said they were going to try to support buyers with magazines, but they still have not come through yet. I may have to order from Europe.
Thanks for detailed write up.
