Still undecided on whether to rebarrel my 270 superlite with a 18" 6CM PBB, or sell the 270 and put $ toward one of these new 6CM tikka models.

I think I will buy as many as I can. Whatever 6 creed I don’t sell, I will use them as donor rifles. The goal is the sell the barrels more easily…

You can put a 6cm prefit in a Tikka long action 270?? If so, I have a Tikka 270 ready to go. Any modifications that need to be done for this?

Yep. You will need a different magazine though.

Swap the barrel, and it’s good to go. Better to use M or M+ mags. You can also change to a shorter bolt stop but it is not necessary.

We will have more 18” 6 creed prefits in a few weeks and more on order.

All Tikka actions are the same length. They have different bolt stops ($5) which control how far back you can pull the bolt. They also have different magazines ($35).

But yes, otherwise they’re interchangeable.

Edit: I should have said they also have separate bolts. But you’re fine with a 270 and 6creed here.

I was going to wait until I shot out one of my Tikka 243 barrels to switch them over to my 6cm prefits. But now I can just use the 270 that I'm not really shooting much.

I ordered a 6.5 tikka to rebarrel to a 6cm exactly a week before they announced the 6cm. I figured it'd be a while before we saw them available so went through with it. Got it back from the gunsmith right as they are becoming available smh
