Are these CMs that much better than what we already have? While looking at new guns I saw so many 6.5 CM rifles and ammo. This is not the cal. I was looking for but thought “I wish there was that much ammo available for my 300 WM”. Tikka seems to have a lot of cal. to choose from so I bet they will make it available. I live in Ohio and wish they would make a 350 Legend (in left hand) but I know that cal is a lot less popular than the CMs. Maybe someone will come out with a 350 CM that is a straight wall cartridge.

I sure hope they offer it soon. It would save me some trouble. I'd buy one and a couple of cases of Hronady Match.

I doubt it, tikka seems like they’re always last to adopt a new cartridge. I’d bet the only new cartridge they’re going to pick up in the next couple years will be the 7prc. I ended up re barreling a tikka T3x lite 270 to 6 creed.

The 6 Creedmoor is a bitchin cartridge for people who think about things the way many of us on this forum do but it hasn't really caught on with the masses like the 6.5. There has to be 20+ options for 6.5 creedmoor ammo at the big box store near me and not a single 6 creed offering. I've had zero issue sourcing factory ammo but it's just not as popular for mainstream hunters.

I just paid to have one chambered up for a tikka rather than waiting.

I'd buy a 6MM Creedmoor in a heartbeat. Shot one at the range ringing steel at 500 yards. Powder puff recoil and could spot hits much easier.

I don’t know if they will, but I’ll say that if you’re interested just buy a cheap prefit from someone like PBB. For $500 you can have a prefit that’s cut to the desired length and threaded.

Sell the factory takeoff for $80 and you’ll save the $125-150 for cutting/threading. You’ll only be out +$300 for a Tikka 6creed.

Not to hijack the thread. Hoping that Tikka comes out with a 7PRC in 2024. I'd jump on that especially in a suppressor ready version. I doubt they will but a guy can dream.

I see the same thing near me. Probably ten to one for 6.5 vs 6. Literally one type of 6cm and that was it, if at all

Does anyone know how well a custom barrel can be blued to match the blued factory action? As I get older I want to deer hunt with a nice wood and blued rifle. A Tikka in 6 CM would be great.

They have a Cerakote that looks like blued steel. Works well with a wooden stock but gives you protection of Cerakote. Get the action and barrel coated and you're good to go.

I’ve often wondered about this too, but doubt it’ll come anytime soon. I wanted a 6creed real bad at one point, for now my slow little 6arc will have to suffice…

I would hope so but Tikka adopted the 6.5CM far sooner than this after it's release. If it was a factory option I'd be all over it but I don't see it happening. I hope they prove me wrong.

The reason for the popularity is simple. They come spun fast enough to stabilize long slickery bullets that also fit in a short action magazine. Your standard 243 doesn’t generally do either of those things

I'm intrigued because the velocity gain over a 243 win would offset the loss of a pretty short barrel. Really, it is a want, not a need.

It looks really good to me as someone who likes to shoot copper. It is about the best velocity and BC combo going in a light kicker.
