Unemployment claims are close to 17 million people now.

History will ask one question: Was it worth it?

Each of us has to answer the question now, before history can ask it.

IMO the only way things get Western is a global economic depression. I wouldn’t put that entirely off the table but I am encouraged but some return to normalcy in the early hotspots. I could see some sparks fly over the oil price issue but that is somewhat separate from Covid.

What concerns me is some twat terrorists are stocking their freezers with Covid samples as I type. Even after we get this under control, intentional reinfection and spreading is going to be a thing.

Well I KNOW this isn’t apples to apples but <3,000 deaths from 9/11. Where is the death count for C19?

I am ignorant and an idiot so I am not saying I know what’s going on or what’s going to happen, but I do see how this could be the beginning of a war whether intentionally or otherwise. Or how government actions in handling this could result in a war...

I think it is more likely the US waits for Iran to do something stupid again, then responds asymmetrically. War is good for business.

Or maybe China's puppet N Korea gets liberated.

Sounds like the Russians are testing us too.. Doesn't make the news cause it doesn't fit the narrative but a breach of our airspace this morning is no joke.

They did it on March 9th too, and do it fairly often. China does it too with warships in the pacific. It is just cat and mouse posturing, with the collateral damage being no more than the underwear of a foreign pilot.

Once we get 2-3 years removed from this, nothing will change. Companies will still be looking to make margins on products, and foreign manufacturing is just cheaper, even with tariffs.

In the past 2 years, three manufacturing plants within 20 minutes of my hometown have closed down and moved to another country. While we continue to push this idea that everything is coming back here, or that is our plan, it's not happening. In fact, it's really the opposite in a lot of places.

You are correct but rarely do they enter our airspace- just test the borders and get close. I hope their undies are casualties, but I doubt we ever get that threatening- I wish😅

Nothing will happen, short of them launching missiles at us .We have been fighting a multi-faceted war since 2001. We need to concentrate on rebuilding our country.

Wars are started by the 1%’ers who don’t have a seat at the table of power. The 1%’ers have never been happier or had a tighter grip on power than today.

The only way this could go sideways is if they take that power too far and do something stupid like trying to chip every citizen or some other obvious breach of power.

As long as folks can keep financing 80k trucks and watch football while sucking down beers and Taco Bell nothing will change.

"When elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers."
-Kikuyu proverb

War between G20 countries in the 21st century will be the last war fought not using sticks and stones.

Hopefully the "leaders" know this.

How many terrorists have the skills (top .001% infectious disease and genetics skills) and resources (100's of millions minimum) to accomplish this? It's not like capturing a butterfly and then releasing it later. It takes extremely high levels of R&D and resources.

Really? I just read an article about the WHO storing small pox samples from the 70s. Don’t underestimate your enemies. All it takes is one dick with a test tube, a chest freezer and the willingness to try.

If you're talking about security for these (WHO, CDC, whatever) facilities, fine, they already do that. No terrorist org is going to weaponize any virus themselves.

China is assh*le!

Trump don't like China cuz China is assh*le! :ROFLMAO: That video makes me laugh every time.

War? Not likely. Repercussions? In a sense, yes. Will they come from other nations? No. Companies will mitigate future risk by moving a factory or two out of China to another cheap country to maintain profits. Besides, all this "rah, rah, rah" nonsense only lasts a few months and then people will be right back to buying "Made in China".
