Where? In my part of the world, it is the current current craze with day and nighttime coyote callers.
IMO it’s here to stay.

Marketing is the fuckin devil I swear! What’s a 7 Saum?
The 6CM just needs to get ahead of the man bun hater branding the 6.5CM suffers, latch on to the honey badger or wolverine or something the boomers can’t not like. The other CMs don’t even really to exist, 6CM covers prairie dogs to giraffes.
Good point. I'm a Berger guy so just glad they have plenty of factory options in 6CM.Hornady is an ammo maker and component maker, the rest have failed because they are gun makers making cartridges. Saums, WSMs, the nosler line, soon the 7 backcountry etc..
All were perfectly fine cartridges with no support and limited options for factory ammo.
Exactly. I am seeing the same thing. Reading the tea leaves here but if Hornady decides to replace 6mm with 25 then it is lights out.I would think so too, but 25 CM is getting pushed pretty hard and I see some companies like Weatherby chambering it but not 6CM. Plus NRL hunter. Who knows though. I do know that some hunters still think a 6mm is more of a coyote and down caliber, and 25 is better for ‘big game’… again who knows.
Short action for the win.The best 7![]()
When? Who? "It has been 84 years..."Seems like a buncha odd personal biases and assumptions..? If anything we’re gonna see more rifles chambered in 6 Creed the next cpl yrs. Most of those comments require a crystal ball. All I can tell ya is wait and see.
Maybe it will rise from the dead like 280 AI.I’ve had a Remington Model Seven in 7 SAUM for nearly 10 years now, I guess. I love it. I wish they would offer factory rifles in them again. It’s been a great cartridge for me. I guess it was just ahead of its time.![]()
That's pretty freaking cool.Doesn't really matter, if you want one, you will always be able to have one. I hunt with a cartridge that has never been offered in a factory rifle, and has no brass or dies available.
I think Hornady will keep making ammo and brass for the 6 Creed. I bought 218 Bee brass and ammo a few months ago- new Hornady production. There have been very few guns chambered in 218 Bee in 50 years, and none that I am aware of currently.
I need to move there.I arguably am seeing just as many 6mm CM options as 6.5 locally.

To me there is.It won't die, but it will never dominate the 6mm market like other Hornady cartridges dominate other legacy cartridges. Right now, MidwayUSA has over 50 ammo options for 243. For 6 CM, it has 15.
The 243 is very competitive with the 6CM. With all the ammo offerings, available rifles and some fast twist 243 barrels, I doubt the 6CM will ever approach the 243 in sales. There just isn't enough "extra" to make the 6CM a no brainer pick over the 243 and other 6mm cartridges.
I wish Remington was, or better yet Tikka but we been down that rabbit whole. UM where is my Raven?Hornady is selling that bitch, not remington...........
Go to gunbroker.com and type in 6mm Creedmoor and chose bolt action rifles. It came up with 72 pages @ 24 items per page. Options from Ruger, Savage, Seekins, Springfield, CA, Bergara, Fierce, Horizon and a lot more. Your level of affordability may not be the same as others but lots of options.Tell me then, who makes a quality 6 Creed for retail distribution? Please don't say Christenson/Bergara. CZ? I am being honest. If there was an affordable 6 CM that wasn't of questionable quality/support I would be all over it.
This forum isn't about my personal budget to be honest, but point taken. The only of those brands I would even consider recommending or buying would be Seekins or Horizon. And Horizon just replaced their 6 Creed model rifle with a new model that does not offer 6 Creed. They are obviously twilighting it. Seekins new models are questionable for reliability from what I hear and no longer offer any after market support since dropping Rem 700 footprint. A lot of Seekins rifles in inventory and obviously oversaturated the market. I doubt it is sustainable. Those other brands on your list I wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy ( not sure about Springfield these days?). But time will tell. My point is the trend seems to be moving away from 6mm, so I'm asking the question.Go to gunbroker.com and type in 6mm Creedmoor and chose bolt action rifles. That doesn’t drive components and whatnot like having a bunch of factory rifles offered in it, though.I get what you're saying but other than having your horse in the race it doesn't actually matter. No need to wait for factories to make what you want. It's never been easier to have barrels whipped up in whatever flavor you like.
For sure. They should have done 25 PRC before 25 creed.
You didnt say you dont see an affordable, quality 6CM in your post. You said there are less and less options. So where are you getting the information that there are in fact less options for 6CM now than there was?Tell me then, who makes a quality 6 Creed for retail distribution? Please don't say Christenson/Bergara. CZ? I am being honest. If there was an affordable 6 CM that wasn't of questionable quality/support I would be all over it.
Very valid point! The issue with that is that the market proved a 25 Creed was viable for years before Hornady jumped in with various companies offering barrels and brass. At this point you can get barrels for the 25 PRC but nobody has formed brass leaving it as a wildcat currently.
