Hi everyone. I am a medical student in Minnesota who is also very passionate about the outdoors and wilderness medicine. I was wondering if anyone on here is (or has connections to) a physician/paramedic/EMS/other who would be interested in participating in some sort of virtual panel with our wilderness medicine interest group in the future. Event in all likelihood wouldn't be until next spring; just trying to find some interested professionals atm.

I did a Advanced Wilderness Life support course through these guys years ago and it was quite well done. You could contact them and they would likely have valuable input or recommend someone.

I'd get ahold of this guy:

Cliff Gray interviewed an ER doc from CO on his podcast. He had some great stories about sport and hunting related accident they have treated in the past. Also some good recommendations on wilderness first aid and preparing.

im sure there will be a ton of traffic on here today with the Idaho non-res draw opening up so just bumping this post to see if it will catch any new attention

My best friend is an EMT and an avid backpacker/hunter. I'm sure he would be interested

What is the purpose of the panel?
Giving students in medical school with interests in wilderness/mountain medicine experiences/connections/mentors/information related to an area of their professional interest! Super low stakes and fun for all! Students in our class that may attend range from absolutely no experience and urban backgrounds all the way to flights medics and other healthcare professionals. Hope this helps!

I have my wilderness paramedic certification and I am a Medical Unit Leader on a Type 1 Incident Management Team that responds to Wildland fires all across the country 🤙🏼
