Wife and I just returned for her first black bear hunt at lake Williston 250 KM north of Prince George.

Pat got a 6’1″ bear with a nice dark muzzle. She used a 7mm-08 Vanguard
with 1 140 grain North Fork on Varget, In and out through the shoulder.

1 shot DRT, I was in trouble because I knew mine would probably run a few yards and would have to hear about it the rest of the week.

Sure enough the next day we found a nice guy with a 8″x12″ white V on his chest.
I used a Ruger #1 in 45-70 with a Hornady 250 grain GMX on IMR 4198, though the shoulder quartering to me, in and out. He went 15 yards almost straight down a hill.

Seen lots of other critters, moose, lynx, porcupine, beaver, mountain goat, and large variety of birds.

It was a great week.
