Mine wanted one also, ended up getting her the burner parka from kuiu. It's her favorite jacket for cold weather.

Got an outdoor research blacktail (I think), I love it. Actually had it with me hunting and it was nice being able to move around and not worry about getting a hole. Good for ice fishing or skiing on really cold days. I have to keep an eye on it so wife doesn’t add it to her collection.

For everyday wear in our corner of the country, hard to beat the Eddie Bauer Superior Arctic.

Both my mom and wife have 'em. If a better made parka exists at the price point, I'm not aware of it.

I think they're on sale for like $250, 10 outta 10 recommend
