I have heard all sorts of opinions about the war in Ukraine and possible peace deals, etc. I have a question that I have not been able to find a good answer for and that is why would Putin want to end the war now? He has taken a huge number of casualties but has an almost endless supply of cannon fodder to keep throwing into the fight. Everyone knows that Ukraine does not have an endless supply of soldiers and that they will not be able to sustain these casualties indefinitely. Putin knows he can continue to grind them down if he simply continues on his present course. I am not sure if Putin wants the whole country or just part of it or whatever. What deal could be made that was sweet enough for him to end the fighting? I think he holds all the cards. Maybe I'm wrong.

He won't.

Look at the writings of Alexandr Dugin to understand the operating code the post-Soviet Kremlin is driven by. It tells you everything you need to know.

If you want to know just how severely US conservative elements have been targeted by Kremlin psyop, do some reading on "active measures", Maria Butina, and what just got revealed about the funding of Tim Pool by Kremlin cut-outs. It's a long-game, and it's strategic. All the fluff of any news cycle is just distraction from that.

He thinks he holds them all and maybe it will seem like it until the world says enough is enough.

Unfortunately, Russian aggression isn't going to quit with Ukraine and the world needs to step up eventually.

Russian aggression - going back centuries - only stops when it is forced to stop by external violence, or internal collapse. Generally it's a combination of both.
