WHY is a Tikka trigger more reliable than an R700 trigger?

Getting down to an 8 oz trigger pull (like is used in many comp guns) seems to have at least a little correlation with lower reliability in the comp gun triggers.

I love my tikka. But I watched two tikka rifles fail after half a day hiking in blowing snow. Bull jumped up and both tikkas misfired. One misfired twice.

They certainly can fail, but the question is which design is least likely to fail.

You may have already read this, but if not:

Curious if you ever degreased the bolts/fire control on them? Not trying to give them a pass for your issue it just reminded me of this.

This is exactly what I believe the issue was. After that hunt, we both went home and completed this.

Havent had the issue since. But also haven’t been in quite as harsh of conditions as that day since.
