Why has shipping become so frustrating.

I know we are in a bit of a unique situation up in Alaska, but starting about a year ago anything that shipped USPS ground advantage takes 3+ weeks to get here. Bad before... worse now.

I can't say that I have seen anything shipped 2 day air (fe3dex or UPS) actually arrive in 2 days... usually around 4.

Really the only timely and reliable shipping we have is with Amazon when they use their own delivery system.

As mentioned above, it might be due to wokeness, but I suspect the problem is a bit more nuanced than that.

Our postmaster says because ground advantage gets loaded on a barge in Seattle. I ask for Priority any time I can but sometimes that's a no-go. We are remote so we expect delays. When the weather is bad the planes don't fly. Amazon comes here via mail or occasionally UPS, which I read recently is in the process of 30K job cuts.

Yes, shipping is a train wreck.

When using the ups/fedex air delivery services every package is routed through a HUB. If that hub is affected by weather (FedEx Memphis hub and Louisville UPS was), then it messes up the entire system. Sometimes they switch hubs or reroute via ground services. That leads to more lost/diverted packages.

We didn’t ship anything last week because there was a 0% chance anything would get delivered to our customers.

Deliveries should be back to normal next week for 99% of the country.

The high prices of shipping always piss me off too! Amazon can get your package to you the same day for free and the other carriers want an excessive amount of money for shipping.
Just went through this. Bought a trailer fender for a dual axle. Total price for fender and 3-day shipped Fed-Ex to my door $160.00...My fault I measured the fender wrong and wanted to return it. Standard ground shipping Fed-Ex to return it...$470. WTF
