Who's hunting Kodiak this fall?

Do you reccomend a bear fence for a camp up high?

All the bears we saw where up high, and although we didn't have any problems I feel safer with the fence. I have had problems with bears on Kodiak in the past and I feel that the fence was the only thing that kept them out of our tent.

Nice goats man. I didn't get drawn, so I'm waiting for road system archery next month and then maybe a 480 trip next spring. Nice to see some goats down.

I shot my 10th goat this year. Had the south road system tag and got one above the headwaters of the Sacramento River. Saw lots of goats hanging out on both sides of the river. In the last four years I've also had the north road system and the Crown Mountain tags. Love hunting Kodiak goats

Your weather was just a little better than what I saw in the Chugach this last week on my (attempted) goat hunt.



Looks like a great time. I know I enjoyed Kodiak this spring. When the sun comes out, it's a awesome place to be.

Kodiak Success

Jumped at the chance to fly up to Kodiak and help my buddy Terry who drew DG473. We had a great hunt with beautiful weather. Only one day out of 7 that we were stuck in our tents. We were able to get the goat on day 1 and do a little deer hunting. Feel very fortunate anytime I get to hunt in Alaska.

Thanks guys, we lucked out on that trip for sure. Troutbum it was great meeting you as well, embarrassing as it is I can't remember your name…..getting old I guess. We hope to be up to AK in the future for a qualifier one year.

I just finished a short video of the goat hunt, I'll post it on Video Central Thread. Working on the deer portion of the trip.
