Who's had an article published in Eastmans'?

I was in there for giving advice on the forum. Haha I was so excited, I think I framed the comment. I am hoping to submit an ariticle or two this year. I love reading the adventures of others though.

I submitted my first Bow kill, and my first elk. The pictures made the Successful Bowhunter Section in EBJ.

When I killed my Tule Elk, I submitted it to the California hunting magazine Relentless 365 and had it published. I had considered sending it to EBJ, but Brent and his brother did such a cool layout that I'm really happy to give them the exclusive.

Lately I seem to just skim the Eastman mags for articles about areas/hunts I'm interested in, and people I recognize..

I've often told myself that I would write some articles here and there. I always end up getting too busy to follow through. I have had pictures in the Successful Bowhunter section many times but never submitted any articles.

I'm glad you guy's submit your stories so I have something to read! I've submitted a few pics to the Huntin Fool and got both my Moose and Antelope featured in the Colorado section last year. Had others in the trophy room too. It's cool to see your pics in a mag. People that don't know any better think your some kind of celebrity or something. I'll never have a story submitted because I can't seem to find the desire to write one up. I'll get by I guess...

I have never submitted a story myself but I have edited a few that my buddy sent in and got published. He even used a few of my pics when we hunted together which was pretty cool. He keeps bugging me to submit my stories so maybe one day I will actually do it.

I've been published, but not in Eastman's. Most people don't realize that if you sat down and posted a story about a hunt you had on here that you probably already have 500 - 1000 words written, which is what most magazines are looking for from new writers. Add to that great photography and you have a good chance of getting published. Also, you don't need to have something worth showing off. If you had a great time or there was something else that made the trip memorable or noteworthy, that can be enough of a hook to get your story selected.

I've submitted one story to EBJ and much to my surprise it got printed. My dad got his magazine first and I was stoked when he called and told me my story was in it. The excitement was followed by kind of an "oh sh#t" moment when I started thinking about how many people were gonna see it. I will definitely write another when I have another "good" hunt to write about.

I was in the very first issue of Eastmans Bowhunting Journal ( A fathers sacrifice) I too was like a little kid when they published it. I have been in the trophy hunters section 4 other times.

Years ago I had a pack review published in EHJ, and 3 stories in EBJ. One made the cover. It is exciting to see your adventures published and in print. These early writings really helped me hone the craft and gave me the idea to submit to other periodicals.
