Who’s going? Mile high hunt & fish expo

No, I'm not flying in. Did you fly to Pennsylvania to go to The Great American Outdoor show?

Of course not, it's cross country.
But I can't see how someone is against something being in their backyard that brings a bunch of vendors in to showcase products. It's like you went and someone kicked your dog and now you don't wanna go back.

I don't particularly care for the buy and try stuff. I have done it with backpacks. There's some things it's almost needed for, but there's a whole lot of stuff that just some personal handling gives you a good idea of it.
No, I don't attend GAO, there's nothing that attracts me to it.

Who said I am against MHHE? I literally said I'd like to see it grow and succeed. Hence why I said they need better reasons to attract attendees. Otherwise, I'd have just said I hope it fails.

It is possible for someone to discuss how a deficiency can be overcome without being opposed to it. I shared the not yet publicly released exhibitor list for the lookyloos to get amped up about. That isn't an act of opposition is it? I'll probably share the presenter schedule in similar rebellious fashion.

Things don't always come across in text, but it was like you were referring to an ex.

I really hope the best for her, hope she grows as a person, is successful in life. Hope this penicillin clears up this syphilis too.

There's several here who put a fair amount of work into it I thought. You seemed pretty dismissive of it.

@sndmn11 what changes would make you excited to go?

When I think of Phil's brand I think of it being experiential and challenging due to the Alpha Bowhunting Challenge. Like what has been brought up in this thread with WHE, ISE, GAO, there's a lot of expos.

I think there's opportunity to blend activity with expo to give attendees real tests with these products. Have a pack course, have an optics testing area, stick with the experiential concept. Alternatively, send the proceeds to non-profits so I have a reason to throw $22 at participation, or hand out door prizes, or have a raffle, silent auction, etc.

WHCE became a spectacle due to amount of money being thrown around at tags, and the chance for the average person to maybe just maybe snag one for cheap. TAC has shown people flock to dynamic events. I'd find MHHE to be a can't miss if it was a spectacle of activity.

I can agree with some of that. A pack course, boot side hill track, optic views outside etc would be cool. Anything outside is risky though in April here, it’s a bipolar weather month. I think it smart to do a couple years then consider expanding.

When is CO a non bipolar weather month?

Two weeks to fiddle.

Like I said, the event is missing a compelling hook. I'd like to see it survive and grow, but that needs vendors to make money at the venue, and that takes purchasing attendees. @Billy Goat are you flying in to attend?

@Ucsdryder as you walk around, ask the businesses what their return was and ask how quickly they'd commit to three more years. It might be enlightening.
Last year I was told it was “better than expected”. This is from a prominent individual.

The venue in Fort Collins never misses a beat. "We" are hardcore hunters right?

Honestly, nothing grows to get better except for trial and error. If there wasn't a market/interest the show wouldn't happen. The show may not have vendors id love to see, but there's still a lot of vendors under one roof at the same time that will make it worth it to view. Im willing to travel from out of state to see it vs going to the western hunt expo just because its also cheaper. Same experience? No, but i still find value in it.

plus, more feed back the show recieves, the better the chance itll grow to how the attendees would like.
It was a great time. Would I come from out of state? Not yet. The western hunt expo is bigger with more vendors. But if you’re local it’s a no brainer for everyone…or at least I thought it was.

I don’t know what you’re referring to
You said weather.
The Ranch Event complex has successful outdoor events year round, and none of those are for hardcore hunters that aren't afraid of weather.

Should just have platforms near RMA to do some real glassing… #nextlevelexpo
Who has dibs on the first ride of the Maven Hand's On Experience shuttle ride over there?
