Who is moose hunting 2023?

I'm glad I got to go moose hunting when I did. The cost is so high now that I just can't afford it.

Best of luck to everyone going hunting this fall!
Yes It keeps climbing about $500-$1000 a year with a lot of the DIY outfits out there.... it really is getting pretty crazy. I was looking at DIY Caribou hunts, as that's what my father wants to do next and they're just as bad.

I was Archery moose hunting in Ontario and getting a bull tag and an airplan flight in for less than 3K not very long ago. lol

Now, the population is in the toilet and the price is 10K.

I knew it would skyrocket so I went 6 years in a row. I enjoyed it more than words can write.

I hear ya there! The experience in itself is truely hard to put into words. I feel like I've got a good thing going right now for Alaska moose so I'm going to milk it as long as I can. Hoping to keep the bi-annual thing going.

Drew Maine bull tag in zone 1. Gonna do a guided hunt for the first time in my life!

Excited to hold my first and hopefully not last moose tag

I drew a Unit 10-3 moose tag here in Idaho. 5th overall year putting in for moose. No goal on size of a Moose but just want to have fun this fall. I work a lot in the unit and will have 300 hours of paid leave built up this fall so plan on hunting from August 30th-November 23rd if it takes that long! Already been seeing lots of moose every day I have had time to scout (have about 50 hours of scouting in already)

It’s amazing how I’ve already built up an army of people to tag along hunting with me and pack out contacts since I first saw that I was drawn. Wish September would get here!

I have a good chance of drawing an antlered moose tag in my home of Alberta. Archery Sept 1-Oct 31, rifle Nov 1-30.

Did you put in on the East side? I'm sitting at priority 17 and I'm on the fence where to pull it next year. We have a bunch of permission north of Wainwright and have seen quite a few good bulls in there. Just nervous to eat tag soup with that many years lol. Always planned on going down south, but numbers and permission are dwindling down there by the year.

That's a lot of points! I put in in WMU 332 as we have some land out there and I see bulls every year with a couple nice ones. Since I'm working real close I plan to hit the stands in the evenings after work.

Right off the deck if I get really lucky! The game management area I live in went to draw about 3 years ago and the wife ended up with a turn-back draw. It also coincides with the area we have sheep draws for. Lots of alpine and sub alpine bulls near here. Got from Aug to end of Oct to fill the tag so a bunch of after work and weekend hunts in order

is it worth the trouble to become a Known Shipper with Alaska Air Cargo? I’ve sent in my application but haven’t heard anything back in over a month.
