sub 7lb scoped 375 H&H Mag w/brake, Match Grade Arms custom...shoots accurate and recoil is very manageable.
7lb scoped 375 Ruger and 416 Ruger Alaskans....neither are braked!
6lb scoped CA Ridgeline FFT TI w/brake in 7PRC. recoil very manageable.
Many sub 8lb scoped 300 Win mags and Bansner custom 300WSM. My favorite rifles/cartidges.
Not recoil sensitive......I knock out 10-20 rounds of hot 505 Gibbs or 458 Win Mag or 470 NE ( Ruger #1 ) no problem. None are braked.

Want me to come down there and whack a few of those tough guys you speak of with that 505 Gibbs? 525's @ 2500fps or 600's @ 2300fps.

Sign me up for 3.

I haven't totally drank the Rokslide coolaid.
I don't shun the small calibers, but I like 'em big.

Mostly to stroke my ego.

I pack shoot (a lot) and hunt with a pair of pre 64 .375 magnums that are 8lb couple oz iirc (grandmas h&h and grandads 375-338wm). Im pretty married to them for anything but mountain hunting anymore, confident to 300 yards with them both, 99% of the hunting here is inside 200 yards. At 300 it’s no issue keeping a 3-4 inch group if I do my part (on a bench), love the big hole’d cloverleaf's they sometimes print at 100 yards. Like any light rifle, they take practice.

I have had a couple tikka t3 magnums and others in the 7mm and 30 cal, I found them a lot snappier then the .375’s, which seem like a thump / push / wallop. I went through 35 rounds of .375’s yesterday from 3 rifles figuring out which one to pack for elk next week, if I’d done that with the t3 300wm I use to own, my shoulder would be colourful this morning lol.

I shoot a 300PRC in nearly the lightest rifle I could build without spending silly amounts of money.

Grayboe Trekker
Trijicon Tenmile 3-18x44 FFP
Christensen Arms Carbon Barreled Action
Triggertech Primary
Dead Air Keymo Muzzle Brake

I can't remember exactly what this setup weighs off the top of my head but it is sub 8 lbs for sure. I will weigh it when I get home later today and update this post with the weight.

I can run as many rounds through this gun as I need to in a range day and I don't develop a flinch. I had a Mossberg 100 ATR in .270WIN and that thing kicked like a mule in comparison to this rifle. I hated shooting that rifle and sent it on down the road.

Ive got a couple Tikkas (CTR and UPR) that are over 11 lbs rigged out. I am going to get back into a more sporter type with aa simple T3X Lite with no brake or can. Just a good ole fashioned 24" stick barrel for hunting.
