Used a Tricer AD on this hunt last year… not the worst choice but I think there’s better out there (I’m just not a fan of the system).

Most folk who do this hunt work the roads/from the vehicle, if that’s your plan don’t be afraid of something heavy (might also be a benefit if the NM winds whip up). Additionally, if you’re hunting from the truck get a tripod you can use from the bed.

If you’re going to go on foot into the lava flow south of 380 in the Pink Peak area light weight will be your friend (but if you’re out of hiking shape then ultralight will not save you). Aziak Backcountry wouldn’t be a bad choice.

Any of them will work, when I hunted there we spotted from pretty far off so the mirage was pretty good after mid morning so the more stable the better. I personally have a Revic and it works great with my spotter and doubles as a rest.
