what bullet were you guys shooting?

I booked a hunt on Ted Turner's ranch with a guide that pretty much only hunts oryx 5 days/week and he recommended a 6.5 creed. We used 147 ELDM's but friends of mine have used the 143's. My son also used a 223 with 77 TMK on an off-range hunt.

Shot placement is different, just get that right and they'll pile up,
I'd like to shoot the 147m this year, just weary but not against it on the Oryx. Where would you say is correct placement? High shoulder?

We just shot the federal big game premium I think was a 175 gr. same as we shot moose with. They are like alot of African game and not hard to kill.Hit them dead center tight behind the shoulder. It was a fun hunt for sure. My daughter had 1 weekend and I had the next.Alot of driving from Kansas. Bring a good deer cart and if in hot weather fill coolers with ice every morning. There are usually guys there to butcher and cape so you can get on ice quick.KNOW all the RULES including what can be in your vehicle and what you can take pictures of.

Not high, just straight up from the leg. Looks like shoulder but isn't. Most people put it behind the crease which may be too far back depending on angle (hence the reputation for being "tough").
