White House rescinds public land use rule

My retirement house is literally 1500 yards from the BLM outside Santa Fe.

Can’t wait for them to put in a nuclear reactor or coal fire plant between me and the mountain view’s.
This is about the public land use rule. The conservation leases in the rule did not specifically include hunting, fishing and trapping. Also the compensatory mitigation section left the door open to possibly selling biodiversity and/or carbon credits. What that means is that a company or NGO could possibly exclude those activities with a conservation lease the way it was worded.

“The previous administration’s Public Lands Rule had the potential to block access to hundreds of thousands of acres of multiple-use land – preventing energy and mineral production, timber management, grazing and recreation across the West,” said Secretary Doug Burgum. “The most effective caretakers of our federal lands are those whose livelihoods rely on its well-being. Overturning this rule protects our American way of life and gives our communities a voice in the land that they depend on.”
