Does it have to be camo? If not, Patagonia and other mountaineering companies will have lots of choices and you can definitely get deals on older model colors. Melanzana makes a nice hardfleece vest as well. I have a blue down vest from Patagonia that I wear on all my rifle hunts, it gets covered up with orange anyways, so who cares?

I like vests and use them two ways. My outdoor research down vest is not camo and is worn as an insulator under a shell or a camo top. It's lightweight, packs small, extremely warm and it's not a chore to keep it dry.

While treestand hunting I will wear a Cabelas wooltimate vest with wind stopper as an outer layer. Very warm but not made for packing up the mountain after elk.

I bought my daughter a Sitka Fanatic Jacket and after seeing it I'm thinking about a Fanatic Vest for myself.
