Looking for advice on raingear busting brush in NW Oregon. If it’s not too wet I wear wool and love it, but it’s too hot and heavy on the real soaking days. Any recommendations for something as tough as rubber raingear but with a quiet hood? The standard grundens are perfect till a downpour comes and I put my hood up. Thanks for any advice

If you are talking rifle seasons in brief no there is nothing that beats rubber raingear. I wore a rubber rainsuit and muck boots 3 miles in to kill a blacktail in a storm a few years back. It was the right choice at that time. If you are talking for a light squall or pissy intermittent then there's a lot of options. I've had good results with Outdoor Research.

Yes I’m talking the late October and November days where it’s just non stop all day rain. Any of the outdoor research stuff any quieter?

Yes but it wont be as rain proof. I use OR for lighter raingear for passing showers etc. When its just coming down I wear rubber rainsuit. Personally I think that noise is over rated. Deer cant hear you 200 yards away in the midst of a downpour in my experience and opinion.

When you say brush busting is that slipping thru the brush or on the move at a good pace?
I know its not popular but I always turn to My Rivers west when slow motion whitetail hunting.
Its quiet, water proof, and warm in November and I move slow so I dont overheat and see more deer

I’m not worried about deer hearing me, it just the hood I can’t hear anything when I’ve got it up. I’m thinking about just seeing a wool hood to a grundens jacket.

Both, when you get in these old clear cuts it doesn’t matter if your slow or fast you’re getting soaked and snagging stuff like crazy on blackberries.

Ok, I guess my ? was more towards if your are moving slow RW would work . Faster alot you may overheat to much.
It does keep me dry though as long as sweat isnt to bad pit zips help
As for the hood thing I am looking at a waterproof boonie and no hood to try and fix that problem
