Which suppressor would you choose? Thoughts on the Nomad Ti XC?

It looks to be a very close to the Scythe Ti, but may or may not be as quiet at SE as the Nomad Ti XC.

This is from comparing the sound rating for the Anthem S2 (same stack design) with the numbers for the other two.

Length - 7.0”
Weight - 9.8

I hate having to look at PewScience, Summit, and manufacturer’s websites to form a sort of composite data set.

PewScience charging both the manufacturer and the consumer really irritates me.

I'm appreciating this conversation you started because I am in the same boat - obviously many of us are.

My suggestion is just be happy that Pew Science is doing what they are doing and also releasing a good amount of data without a fee. I also happen to think their fee is reasonable in the scheme of things. Partly due to the precise reason you pointed out - manufacturers are often unwilling to publish the data or unwilling / unable to publish accurate or comparable data. The thing to be irritated about is the thing you mentioned earlier - the fact that the purpose of a suppressor is to "suppress" and yet many manufacturers won't publish data or submit to an independent entity like Pew Science. At some point they will all publish data, but that doesn't help our problem today.

If I was going to buy another ultra7, I’d sell the CB that comes with it and rockset an SRS adapter in there. Save an ounce. Could probably save more weight if TBAC just made it direct thread to start and they’d save some machining effort too.

The HUXWRX Flow 762 TI could be worth a look for a good all-around can, especially if you might swap it onto a gas gun at some point (flow-through design makes for minimal gas system tuning requirements). It weighs just under 12oz, under 7" long and works well for both .22 and .30 calibers.

Dont they require you to use their 3+ ounce muzzle devices so its like 15 ounces including that? Is there a lighter option with that adapter pattern?

Expensive, heavy, doesn't suppress as well as higher backpressure offerings. Seems like a guy would have to really prioritize low backpressure to pick that as an all-rounder?

All good points. I'd give it points in the versatility column because it should work well with platforms that are typically finicky with backpressure e.g. AR-10 or maybe even BAR. That being said, if that sort of thing isn't in the cards, probably not a contender.

I just got the raptor 10 w/ 5" Reflex. Incredible can, very pleased with it. I think my AE30 is equally quiet, but also quite a bit heavier. Looking forward to hunting with the raptor this year, and having more range time with it.

Sorry that wasn't a very clear post. I tried the A-10 on an AR that is currently set up shooting a Scythe. I only put one round down range through that A-10 and did the "not doing that again" self talk.

Moved it back to the 22-250 bolt gun where it belongs...

I run E brake on a ti xc and lti xc on both its a sharper crack. Less push as well.

If you were going to be running one of these with the E-Brake on a 300 PRC in hunting scenarios would you purchase the shorter Nomad Ti XC or the longer Nomad LTi XC for added sound suppression? Either way are they hearing safe? Then it would probably make more sense to get the shorter Ti for hunting scenarios eh?

I used a Nomad Ti XC on a .243 all deer season. At one point my 10 year old son was lining up on a doe, i was sitting behind him and my 6 year old daughter was playing in the dirt 5 paces behind us in the brush. This was about to be our 4th or 5th round down range for the morning and all I could think about was years past when we would all be huddled up holding our ears/sharing ear protection waiting for the gun to go off. Absolute game changer for our crew.
