Which Short Mag for 3.0 COAL?

New light weight build on a Terminus Apollo lite short action with 3.0 COAL? Which short mag? Thinking about 7mm-300wsm or 7 ss. 180 -190gr. bullets. 22" or 24"barrel? Carbon or Steel barrel?

I chose 7 saum, but both of your options there are good ones. I'd lean to the 7ss just because of brass already setup to go. I went saum because I had the extra room with the Tikka. 3.0 is certainly doable for the saum I'm not much longer than that. But the 7ss should fit nicely

I'm shooting a 7-300 wsm with an improved shoulder, its no faster than the 7 wsm but the 45 degree shoulder only requires trimming after 15 shots.
I'm a huge wsm fan over the saum for 7mms, I checked the length of a 168 vld seated to the boat tail shoulder junction and its 2.95".
With your 3" magazine 168s or 180s would be my bullet of choice, if you're shooting suppressed I'd keep it at 20" otherwise 24 would be perfect

If you can get your hands on some ADG 300 WSM brass a 7-300WSM would make for a pretty nice setup.

As for CF vs all steel barrel the only thing a CF barrel offers is a cool look and a larger diameter muzzle but even if you plan to shoot it suppressed just order a barrel with enough muzzle diameter to meet the suppessor's thread spec.
