I've tried about six different ones over the years and the 3 oz Filo Elite is still my pillow of choice. It's soft, insulated, fairly quiet, and wider than most. I attached it to my pad with Velcro and that in itself made it 10x better.

All I did with mine is leave it in my back room for 2-3 days and was shocked at how it puffed up so much. I will remember the washing routine. I think putting it in a dryer with wool dryer balls and no heat might also make it puff up more, but it can't get any more full right now.

When I first got my thermarest I was like, " this is crap". It was skinny compressed and a total waste. Then I read the instructions (who knew pillows came with instructions right). It said to wash and air dry, as it only then will it puff up fluff up and expand. What a difference that made.
Exactly the same impression I had when mine arrived. The washing and drying makes an unbelievable difference.
