More light yes in the 52s. Especially noticeable during dawn/dusk. But zero difference in magnification between 10x42 and 10x52.Is it that noticeable of a difference in magnification

That’s great! We’re happy you’ve enjoyed them, and couldn’t agree more with what you stated!Well I got the 10x52s in. I did a simple test last night during the back end of twilight by going back and forth between the 10x42 and 10x52 NL Pures. I was looking at the numbers up on power pole transformer about 75 yards away. Everytime I switched back to the 10x52s it felt like I went back 20 minutes in time where it wasnt as dark. At one point, as it got darker, the 10x42s seemingly refused to focus enough to make the edges on the numbers I was looking at crisp and clean while the 10x52s had no problem doing so, and again, the entire image was just a bit brighter. I'm a believer. The 52s are bigger, they are VERY slightly heavier but I think they are my companions from now on and possibly forever. Perfect binos. Im in AK, when its not dusk or dawn, its overcast or I'm chasing moose in the heavily canopied woods so the slight weight and size penalty, I'll get over quickly.
The hand holding with the 10x52s is very impressive. Now, we always strongly recommend glassing with a tripod, but if you need to hand hold you’ll be in good hands with these. No issues hand holding and keeping stable?

Ya I misspoke I meant the objective. The low light difference sounds pretty noticeable from what folks are saying.More light yes in the 52s. Especially noticeable during dawn/dusk. But zero difference in magnification between 10x42 and 10x52.
You mean same fov of the 10x42’s? Yes I agree! Unbeatable. They will release them in a year or two I’m sureA 12x52, with the same FOV as the 12x42, would have been the golden middle that would have sold more than either the 14 or the 10, IMHO. Great handholdability, and significantly more light than the 12x42.
No, a potential 12x52 can never have the FOV of the 10x42. The numbers 12 and 10 represent magnification, which in turn impact the FOV. The higher the magnification, the narrower becomes the FOV.You mean same fov of the 10x42’s? Yes I agree! Unbeatable. They will release them in a year or two I’m sure
Gotcha, I figured maybe with a larger objective they could have a larger FOV. I mean the fov on the current 12’s is Fantastic, never been able to handhold 12’s and it’s not bad with the 12x42 puresNo, a potential 12x52 can never have the FOV of the 10x42. I am talking about a future 12x52 having the same FOV as the current 12x42, with a 71degree viewing angle. That would be a terrific winning formula for Swarovski.
Yeah, a larger objective will let in more light, which is always a good thing, in poor lighting situations (dawn/dusk). Has zero impact on FOV.Gotcha, I figured maybe with a larger objective they could have a larger FOV. You know they will drop those in a year or so… I would have gladly gone with 12x52’s from the get go. But my 12x42’s are pretty ideal for nowYeah, a larger objective will let in more light, which is always a good thing, in poor lighting situations (dawn/dusk). Has zero impact on FOV.
10x42 and 10x52 will have comparable FOV (within a few feet of each other) and thus a future 12x52, can be expected to have a comparable FOV to the current 12x42 (within a few feet of each other). The 12x52 will be a lot brighter than the 12x42, in poor lighting conditions.
Yup, I used to have the 12x42 NL at one time, and along with the forehead rest, I could easily handhold it steadily. I now have an 8x42 NL. I might look at the 14x52 as an addition, or if the 12x52 drops, then I will sell the 8x42 and stick with the 12x52 as the only option (one and done). You know they will drop those in a year or so… I would have gladly gone with 12x52’s from the get go. Agree about the forehead rest, I thought it was gimmicky at first but I am a big fan of itYup, I used to have the 12x42 NL at one time, and along with the forehead rest, I could easily handhold it steadily. Same, after using it glassing for hours at a time (hawk counter) i can say that i could never go back to not using it for long glassing sessions.Agree about the forehead rest, I thought it was gimmicky at first but I am a big fan of it
