Cabela's is still running their sale on Kryptek and I'm in the market for some rain gear. Really I think my question is, does anyone have any experience with the lightweight Poseidon line? Jacket/pants in that line are ~1.5 lbs where the Koldo line would be 3+ lbs. I'm sure I would use the stuff at various times, but my #1 concern is a light, packable outer shell for elk hunting CO first rifle season. Folks seem to think highly of the Koldo set but I'm not seeing any reviews on the Poseidon.

I am torn too. i like ASAT but trying to find the good rain gear to match and cost. I'm leaning on FL Stormtight in brown. But count ounces and i like the Kryptek Posiden for weight regardless of pattern not matching. I ran and tried Koldo and Posiden on at Cabelas and Koldo is much thicker/heavier and other is lighter.

From reports here, Posiden as done well. Now I'm rethinking, sale equals saved money for other things.

I have both sets and for your use, the Poseidon should work nicely. The Koldo is great for when you are "living" in rain gear but not nearly as packable as the Poseidon. The Poseidon is great "pack" rain gear. The Koldo is some serious rain gear, but the Poseidon will keep you dry when you need it.

Koldo = pockets and pit zips, Poseidian = more packable, lighter weight.

Personally I like pit zips, so for the top I went with the koldo and for the pants I went with the poseidian.

FYI.... I just received an email from Kryptek, they are having a 25% off sale through Dec 31st or while supplies last on outer layers sets.

I prefer the Koldo because the pockets and full frontal zip option. I like the weight of the Poseidon but the qtr zip pisses me off. I've had great luck with the Koldo.
