Western Hunter, Eastmans and id look into joining Pope and Young club, RMEF or the WSF they all come with great magazines and the money is supporting conservation.

Western Hunter, Elk Hunter, and Extreme Elk are three that should fill your needs. Quality publications with good content and writing.

Pope and Young's "The Ethic" is an incredible magazine, worth the membership cost. There is so much good info in each issue.

I enjoy Eastmans for the MRS section, and I also enjoy Bow and Arrow, Bowhunter and the WSF magazines that I've read.

That said... You will learn more on here for far less than most magazines available today. If learning is your goal, read books that are based on what you are trying to learn. IMO...Magazine articles today are so brief, cut down to make the 1500 word limit and unless you already have a decent knowledge base they will not help much. The ones that "teach" are typically very general or vague...or they are "How to" based on a specific "gimmick" or decoy, scent, lure, etc...

Bottom line, to me, there are much better options available to learn than what most magazines out there today can offer.

Just my thoughts...

Depends on what you are looking for. I like Elk Hunter and Western Hunter. I dropped my Extreme Elk sub, it is basically just DIY stories written by hunters. EH and WH don't have as many stories and more reviews, tips and technique articles. I'm not a fan of the hunt stories and don't read them.

Bugle magazine. All the others became redundant and stale quickly, especially when you see a successful story by a hunter only to flip the page to a full length ad featuring said hunter and all the "great" gear they used. Extreme Elk is a great example And became putrid quickly for me

Rokslide ! An incredible amount of information and interactive so if you don't find everything you wanted to know just ask. I can't believe in this day and age someone would pay for a printed magazine. Jmo.

I like eastmans bowhunting journal, rokslide and the journal of mountain hunting(its only a few months old and online only). This website is hard to compete with, when it comes to content though!
