many of us use a labradar in competetion and dont have trouble, even with 50 rifles on the line all shooting at once. no add on triggers allowed.Labradar pros
-groups and velocity same time
Labradar cons
-sucks at a busy range.
i would not necessarily advise getting the LR right away. it is a lot of bucks to invest if you dont know how much you will use it.
my first chrono was a timer with 2 optical sensors. it gave a time in a display that you had to convert to velocity. the next one was a chrony [which i still have] the chrony will still do anything needed but..... you are not using it in competition. it is a pain to set up, even if your alone. and if others are shooting you have to get them to stop to set it up and hope they dont shoot it. if engaging multiple targets at different ranges it is not ideal. and then you have the lighting problems.
the best way to set up a chrony that i have found is to pull the bolt and insert a laser in place of the bolt. the laser will shine down the barrel enough to let you find where the bullet will go on a card [ so you dont shoot your chrony]
if you will use it a lot, such as set it up every time you shoot, the LR if the only choice.
