Which Bullet

I've been practicing distance shooting for my antelope hunt this fall with several different guns. I've pretty much settled on my FIL's .25-06.

I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this question, but I wanted some opinions.

He has some handloaded Sierra 90gr HPBT and 100 gr SBT that I've been shooting. They both group equally well, but point of impact is different. I may have to adjust scope depending on bullet

The 100s are about 4 inches low at 300 and about 14 inches low at 400. Windage is dead on
The 90s are about 14 inches high at 300 and 4 inches high at 400. Windage is 8 - 10 inches right.

Which bullet? I've never heard of anyone hunting with a HP.

Either will be fine for a lope but I'd likely run the 100SBT. The current impact point versus the current scope zero is irrelevantin the discussion, you zero the scope for the load you are planning to shoot. I personally zero my guns for 200yd but that's your call, then figure out the drop (or clicks) from there for longer stuff.

Either bullet will be fine (the antelope won't know the difference). I've killed a handful of speed goats using everything from stick and string, 223, 22-250, 270wsm, 30-06 and 300RUM. Zero your scope for 100 or 200, know your drops or clicks as stated above and go for it. Antelope aren't hard to get within 100-300 yards of and die pretty easily when hit in the vitals. Have fun!

A lot of folks like and swear by Seirra bullts, but I'm not one of them. I never did like the performance of them in my 25-06 on whitetails.

Exactly this.

I use a weatherby in 25-06, I'm shooting 100gr ttsx or tsx Barnes. H100v. I harvested 3 antelope, one in Wyoming 2 in Utah, in excess of 20 mule deer in Colorado, over 100 hogs in Texas and one bear in BC. I've lost one deer in Idaho. All dropped either in there tracks or within 25 yards. I've recovered 4 bullets. At 525yrds I'm grouping 1.91 inches. I can send pictures if you want, pm me for more info.

Thanks guys. I guess I should have been more clear. I gave the point of impact of the bullets at the yardage because I feel I could push the HPBT out to 500, but with the current drop, I don't feel I need to push SBT out. Doesn't sound like I should need to though
