He never sees es to entertain me =-) haha

Rick young bino harness is simple, effective and lightweight. Everything a backcountry hunter needs. It's now what I use all the time.

Luke and I have been using an Alaska Guide Creations bino pouch for the last several years, and really like them. Keeps my Victory 8x32's well protected but still easily accessible on my chest, and i have enough room in the side and front zippered pockets to securely carry my tags/license, havalon, rangefinder, Chapstick, extra rounds and even a small snack. I really like that the binos themselves are not attached to anything, so they don't get tangled up in stuff while I am glassing, but I can quickly drop them back into the pouch and close the buckle if I want to start moving again. Also nice to have the essentials on my body, so if I drop my pack for the final stalk I have everything I need to start butchering while Luke goes back for the packs...

Not quite as light as some other options but for the amount of space and protection it offers, I will take the couple of extra ounces...

I am a bowhunter so using glass will be of the utmost importance. Moving to Montana here as soon as I complete my job interview so I can nail down dates for the move etc. I have never spot/stalk hunted before, so I'm not really sure what to expect. Smart guy told me to "let my optics do the walking" and I plan on doing that. With the FHF harness, are the bino's on some type of cord or something to avoid having them fall to the ground?

Yup they have an attachment point with quick release buckles if you want to pass them to someone else, they are made in MT as well.

I'm hopefully going to be making my own harness here soon. Basically a copy of the FHF but with a few small tweaks. Using 500d cordura and 1" nylon webbing.

I am hoping the new KUIU harness is the ticket and that it ships before scouting season. But who knows...

I liked the FHF but I found it made shoulders very sore after a full day. I also found the material to be noisy. And getting the binos in and out was a bit more of process than would be ideal.

I've been using a Nimrod for 4 or 5 years now and generally like it, but run into one issue with it that I'm wondering if others do as well. It has a real tendency to ride up on my back an eventually pretty much just end up on the back of my neck where it drives me nuts. I've done lots of adjustments with the straps and have yet to find a cure. It has gotten to the point where I'm beginning to consider other harnesses.

Yep, I have a Nimrod harness, and it does this very same thing, tried adjusting all the straps and I couldn't get it to stop either. No concern now that I have an FHF bino harness.

Mike,
I have been wanting to do that too. I just ordered the FHF though because I don't really have time right now and I need one. I would like to make one still though that is lighter and I want it to attach to my pack straps so I don't have to wear both. I'll bring it on the hiking trip in July and we can figure out the best way to do it!
