Idaho and what ever season is open. I love water fowl but ain't got a good dog. Been trying my luck with upland but can't really find a spot with good numbers. Still love just getting out and walking though.

Here in Southern California, I’m happy with whichever ducks give me a shot! We get mostly greenwing teal, cinnamon teal, gadwalls, and shovelers. Although I did get a nice mallard on Wednesday!

Oregon, Chukar hunting, and duck hunting. Chukar hunting always sounds like a good time till you're out of water and deep in a canyon, but still continue to do it!

central California. Can’t get enough of duck hunting second only to mule deer hunting. Best year of public hunting I’ve had in awhile (Some of these highlights are two-man straps).

side note if anybody needs a “helping hand” for the junior hunt or veteran hunt shoot me a PM!

Upland we've got primarily grouse, and some pheasant (Edit: Forgot Woodcock). Waterfowl we have the Atlantic Flyway, geese, puddle ducks, divers / sea ducks. Late goose season is still open for another two weeks here.

My first year waterfowl hunting, decent success for still figuring out what I'm doing. Wish I'd made it out early season for some woodies and more shots at mallards.

Northern California here. Glad to see someone else mention snipe! Most fun bird I've ever hunted and some of the most challenging shooting I've ever had. Only shot one limit, ever.

On a related note, anyone out there who has hunted both snipe and woodcock? I'm curious how they compare since they are clearly related.

snipe are a more slender bird, woodcock more stocky build pretty close to twice the size. Both hold nice for a pointing dog with snipe more spooky. I found once you get used to a woodcocks rising flush they are easier to hit even in the woods then a snipe twisting and turning in the open. Both are a ball to hunt!

Twice the size! I figured they were bigger, but I had no idea they were that big. One of these days I need to head east for a bird hunt. Glad to hear they are easier to hit, if they were harder...they'd be impossible.

Originally from Southern IL, I hunted turkeys, ducks, bobwhites, and doves there.

I lived in Colorado for a while. The only birds that I hunted there was turkeys. I shot a few blue grouse but that was while bowhunting.

I've been in Montana now for almost 10 years. As far as birds go, I mostly hunt spring turkeys Apr- May and pheasants Oct - Dec. I'll usually shoot a few sharpies and Huns while pheasant hunting and sometimes while specifically hunting them. I also occasionally get to shoot waterfowl but not very often.

In addition to MT, I try to hit another state or two for turkeys every now and again. I'm trying to make it to FL this year.

I moved to Iowa 10 years ago. For a while I hunted only only pheasants with a trip to Northern Wisconsin in October for grouse and woodcock. The last couple of years I have hunted quail more and more. I would say now I enjoy hunting pheasants and quail equally.

I also really enjoy spring turkey hunting. We can get two tags so that is plenty for me. Great time to be in the woods.

People's Republic of Washington and I haven't come across a bird I don't like hunting yet...

If my dog can flush it or retrieve it, I'm probably down to hunt it lol.
