Their budgets and accounts need to remain separate in order to qualify for Federal grants such as Pittman Robertson and other things. If they were using money raised by the wildlife side and spending it on the parks side they would lose those grants. The FEDs are serious about that stuff.

I think the parks side has done a good job in raising revenue over the last decade by raising camping rates and entrance fees at state parks as well as selling park passes. It also helps with the population explosion that the state has seen in that time frame as well, many of those people are getting outdoors and buying passes. They even managed to add the $29 annual park pass to all vehicle registrations in Colorado unless you "opt" out.
Talk about a lie, this is the biggest one ever. Parks has never been self supporting off of parking and camping fees.

Shoot man we need some wolves in sheep clothing if you know what I mean… need to fight them with their own tricks. Seriously we need to found a group that is all about “diversity, equity, crap as a front, get some hunting folks who look a little different, and spout liberal BS but with the mission of infiltrating the swamp and getting a seat at the table to push what we really need, predator management, and sound practices that look out for sportsmen and wildlife

We have a diverse hunting population, seen camps with rainbow flags up. Ran into a lesbian couple hunting antelope while I was scouting for 1st season. Many getting into it for clean eating or getting back to our roots. Plenty of diversity, but I think many hunters want to keep with “ like minded” or In general pretty unmotivated to get involved. Most public meetings are void of hunters when CPW discusses topics.

We don‘t lack for anything but organization and fight,
