You wouldn’t buy a semi if you regularly hauled a few 4x8 sheets of plywood, a 1/4 ton pickup works fine.
Same applies to .308 and most hunting applications. Why trade barrel life and ammo prices if 308 will do just fine being that most people hunt inside of 300 yards. (Here in MI it’s more like 100.)
Plus lots of load data, and can share projectiles if you also load for 300blk, 30-06, or .300 win mag etc.
