Yeah I love them. I still enjoy a good bass bite or getting after schooling stripers with topwaters; but if I can figure out the crappie, that's what I'm fishing for.

I used to fish a lot around home, but 90% of that stopped once we started going to AK. Still enjoy catching a few Lakers on Lake Superior but man it’s tough to stay interested around home when I can just grab some halibut or salmon out or the freezer.

The video is even more impressive. Go up there snagging reds when they're running one time. It's the dumbest, most fun I've ever had fishing in my life. Just not a lick of sport involved, cast a giant ass treble hook across a river and start ripping. We couldn't plane the boat out on the way back cuz we had too many fish haha.

Small stream fishing for trout is my favorite. I just started nymph fishing with a fly rod this year. I can't believe the difference in the amount of fish I've been catching compared to my spinning gear. Now I just need to learn how to cast dry flies.

Favorite is fly fishing for trout, and we have some of the best tail waters in the southeast, only about 3 hours away. The coast is about three hours in the other direction, and we'll make it down there every now and then with friends to fish inshore.

We have a pond at the house with a healthy population of bass and bluegill that gets fished pretty regularly.

I was pretty heavy into bowfishing, but it got to the point that I was only using the boat a handful of times a year so it got sold a few months ago.

We used to trout fish a lot. Mostly spinning tackle with small rapalas. There were some fly fishing only areas and we did those too.

My fav was the mayfly hatches and the spent wings the next few days. 1 trout on the surface was better than 5 on a nymph or wet fly. Had a pond where you could go and catch trout 1 after another on size 12 hare's ears and a small hornberg type pattern we tied using starling feathers.

If we were fishing small ponds with tons of folks around like a kid's derby, a clear bubble with a single meal worm on a small book was the ticket.

Pretty much just fish for walleye, perch, gills, and crappie for me in wisc, trout once in awhile

Makes me real jealous all of this talk if walleye. We have a few local lakes with small populations here in SW CO but mostly trout here. Trout are fun but I don't eat them usually. Too bony and not that tasty. Had a brook trout this winter that was pretty good but the rainbows I mostly catch aren't good

The ice is still on the lakes for a couple more weeks but then we will go catch some kokonee, rainbow n dollyvarden. Salmon start showing up in mid July through September.
Halibut and rockfish, goldeneye filets are nice.
But loading the canoes and going to the local lake for the northern style pan fish is nice n easy. Kids love it too
Growing up in Wisconsin, walleye if I could catch them. And a pan full of bluegill filets with a cold beers is pretty darn near the top

I like to catch whatever's biting! This morning we had a heck of a time fighting off buffalo carp trying to catch white bass. Snagged a couple in the fast water but most were biting. Even had one hit a rapala! My boys biggest (pictured below) was 10lbs and mine was 8.

I snagged into about a 4ft paddle fish and boy was that a fight! Unfortunately after bringing him up to the bank 3 times only to have him rip off on another run, my son missed with the net and knocked my lure out of the fish. No harm as he had to go back anyway but they are pretty rare in these parts and pics would have been cool.

We did eventually get some of the target species.

Walleye are great eating, but white bass and wipers on light action rods are a blast!

Walleye are one of the best tasting fish imo also really fun to catch, Salmon are a close second.
