Southern WI, it’s a crap shoot. Some early droppers start in Dec, have seen them hold well into April. This year is one that a lot held on until late March, early April. Saw a descent one with one side yet last week. Typically bigger deer seem to drop sooner but not this year.
Second week for the last three years. Watched a herd of 50 deer until the last two big guys dropped their headgear and went in the next day. These deer were feeding in a snow covered field that looked like they were eating dirt. Turns out it was a harvested sugar beet field. Drove me crazy, only found the right side of both big ones and searched another day for the left sides but no go.
Just found the other side to this nice rack. Found it in his hiding spot right behind a landowners 5 acre pine stand. Found antler about 10 yards from his favorite rub tree. Nice hiding spot !
