Interesting that he still has antlers. Antlers typically drop late Dec/early Jan here in the Adirondacks. Always thought timing was latitude/photoperiodism linked. I’d guess that you are similar to us in that regard. It would be extremely rare to see a buck with antlers this late where I am. Live and learn.

Two days ago I had trail cam photos in central NY of two bucks with antlers.

All over the board in northeastern PA. I noticed some lost their antlers right after Christmas this year, but still have a few that are holding on.

Starts around Christmas time. Seen several small bucks last week that still had horns. Have seen them all the way into April.

Generally late January here, I think.

This one was Dec. 5th a few years ago. Surprised the hell out of me when it popped off in my hand.

South central PA and I'm surprised... mostly. It seems they're hanging on into March around here the last couple years. I think the latest pic I had in 2023 was March 4th or about that. I have come across a couple smaller beams that were all chewed to bits already, so some younger buck have dropped in early February this year.

They usually drop right around the end of March for our deer in South Texas. Some hang on until the first week of April.

As of today, March 11, I'd say half of the antlers have dropped here in central KY. Here's a picture from March 2

My guy shed this weekend but he won't tell me where they are.

Southern OH. I would say roughly half of the bucks have shed at this point. Seems like it’s been later the last two years. Assuming this year was so late due to a really warm winter and plenty of acorns.

Here in Missouri it seems we are having a later drop this year. At least on the farms I have been hunting. I think the lack of cold weather this winter has them less stressed and holding longer. I saw 2 bucks yesterday 03/12 still holding both sides. This is a total guess but I would assume probably 40-50% are still holding but there are always variables. I do have a photo of a deer January 20th that had dropped both sides. Definitely extremes to both ends

Had two 8 points in the picture on March 23 with both sides still attached. South central PA. Getting late!

Saw a medium sized 6 point about an hour ago, SE Tn. Looked like he was hanging out with two buddies that had already dropped their antlers.
