Application deadline for elk and deer is March 15th. Regulations should be available several weeks prior to the deadline.

Im not talking about the deadline guys. I know its the second week of march.

What I meant, is I got on this morning to see if they were allowing applications yet and you cannot purchase/apply yet. I want to know when's the soonest I can put in. Not when the deadline is.

Gonna be a while still. They're still having their public comment meetings on proposed regulations.

I'd guess mid February.

Any truth to the rumor they are moving the deadline back?

Is that part of the public comment phase?

SB144 passed by the last 2019 legislature and signed by the governor has extended the application deadline from March 15th to April 1st. Not something that would be proposed in the biennial season setting process. There's a mighty difference between what can be done by FWP, the commission, and legislation......

I didn't want to add to confusion if I was mistaken, but I knew I'd read that somewhere. I couldn't recall where and couldn't find it anywhere. Thanks for posting thst

I recieved an email today stating "Their systems will not turn on til March 1st"

I'm a newbie, planning my first ever elk hunt, and was attempting to retrieve my ALS #.

Not surprised you couldn't find it on the website, I went into the Bozeman office not too long ago and they couldn't tell me. But the did say that the deadline had been moved to April 1.

Thanks. I first heard it on the elktalk podcast. Newberg said he needed to research to be sure.
