negative for me; some guys re-stuffed the stock with plastic grocery sacks- with a fraction of an ounce increase

What rifle is that?
Caliber?
NF NX8 on Hawkins Hybrids?
Brake?

Looks nice!
Thank you. Its a factory Christensen Arms Ridgeline in 6.5 PRC. I did put a CA side port brake on it and its sitting in a bedded Manners EH1 stock. You are correct on the rings and scope. The rings are the tall versions and the scope is the 2.5-20 version.

I like it a lot but do not love it. To be honest if the component market was normal I would probably sell and get another Tikka Superlight and drop it in a Mesa stock and top it with a Zeiss v4. I think the tikka/sako actions are better than the 700 actions. at least the CA action. I'm used to a really smooth bolt.

I’ve got a new tool that I think I’ll like based on a few shots. I pulled number 2 and the wind was blowing 30-35 left to right.
Now for the question, it’s got a vx-iii 2.5-8x36 with b&c reticle. The first line down is on at 200 yds.
I’ve got a swaro z3 3-10x40 with the brh reticle. Would you switch or leave as is for an all purpose rifle that will head to Alaska this September.

I have both of those scopes. Both will work for your purpose, just verify & practice with whatever you choose to hunt with. I do prefer the BRH reticule, my brain works better in Milliradians.

What is the consensus on the VX2 2-7x33 or VX3 2.5-8x36? My current go to rifle is around 9.5 pounds but working on a 6 pounder.

All my scoped hunting rifles, except for two, wear either a VX2 2-7X33 or a VX3i 2.5-8X36. Switched to the 2.5-8X36 when Leupold, in their infinite wisdom, dropped the VX2 2-7. (Jackasses) Very satisfied with both, but prefer the VX2 2-7.

Edit: Should have looked at the OP date before posting.

A about 7 pounds depending on the sling and scope covers I have on it. I could shave 3 ounces by switching to Talley one piece rings, but like being able to move my scope to other guns. A lighter scope could take another 5-9 ounces off. Though 7 pounds all in is a nice weight for carry, shooting, and recoil.
