What's your go to water bottle

I really like the hydrapak soft bottles mainly because when they are empty they roll up super compact. Never had a durability issue but then again Gatorade and smart bottles are durable and cheaper...

Ha! I’ll be odd duck out:

Primary is a hydrapak flux 1L: it’s light and stands up when full, but packs down to be tiny.

I also use smart water bottles, which are admittedly a bit lighter than the flux bottle.
I've been checking out the flux. Do you run a bottle pocket on a hip belt at all? Was curious if it would be a pain getting it in and out.

I used to use the side pockets on pack, then went to FHF belt pocket but hated how strapped it was. Then SG new style bottle pocket, but I’d secure it with the Velcro where the belt meets lumbar pad to get it back and out of the way. Still a bit of a pain to get a flux out of that.

Went to K4 with Nalgene holster now and prefer that over the flux bottle. Still use the flux for summer hikes - water heats up really fast in them unfortunately.

That's great info. Really appreciate it!

Another for the Nalgene wide mouth in a hip pouch and 1.5 L bladder in my pack with filtering system of course.

I have a Takeya traveler that I really like It is marketed as a coffee mug, but I have not used it for any hot drinks. It is stainless steel and the mouth is wide enough for eash cleaning and easy filling with ice cubes. The lid flips for easy drinking without having to unscrew any part, but it also has a "locked" position in which the lid can't flip open. I have had some bottles leak all over a backpack because I didn't have the lid screwed on just right, but I have never had a leak with this. And the lide has a little ring that flips up that you can use to carry the bootle if you like.

Thermoflask from Costco. Used to be Nalgene but trying to avoid plastic after learning about microplastic consumption. Don't want a short a to b measurement.

The yeti yonder bottle 1L is a smidge less diameter than a 1L Nalgene and slides in and out of a water bottle holder easier with one hand. And they have a handle that’s easier to grab. Worth it IMO

The classic Nalgene wide mouth almost just seems bullet proof.
