Whats your favorite headlamp?

Fenix HM50R V2.0 arrived today. Impressive at 2.8 oz it nearly matches the Fenix HM62-T for distance. 3.5 oz with a spare streamlight rechargable battery is still an ounce or so less than HM62-T. The 50R is solidly above anything else previously listed after HM62-T.

Peax, last light, and Sofirn H/D25L/S, and I would call it a wash with HM65R but they really aren’t comparable in weight or light output.

Really intrigued by the HM50R and then carry a handheld spotter for long throw when needed.

I keep a Black Diamond Storm + 6 AAA batteries in my Possibles. For day-to-day, that Fenix HM50R is hard to beat. You can carry 3 extra batteries for the same weight as one Peax/Sofrin/Last Light setup. If I really need a lot of light output, I use the Last Light headlamp, which is close to the Sofrin and Peax, so I think it's just a personal preference.

Fenix Superraptor 3. A bit heavy but haven’t found anything better for battery capacity and brightness with red light option.

I started using nitecore ultralight last year and so far really like it. Time will tell how it holds up but I know plenty of backpackers that have used theirs for years with no issues.

Fenix HM65R Super Raptor.

I’ve used all the major brands and most of their better/best offerings. My search stopped here. Independently controlled flood and spot lights, incredible battery life, durable, light, comfortable.

I’ve had a lot of different mainstream brands over the years but started using a Peax last year. Really impressed with how long the battery lasts. I don’t ever see myself buying a BD or Petzl light again.

Love all my Fenix products. my only gripe is the red isn't bright enough on my headlamp. I use a Peax when I'm walking to a stand early AM. Fenix the rest of the time. Peax does red well!

I was a big flashlight guy and always preferred headlamps so I used probably most brands on the market.

My fav headlamps are Skilhunt, they're like Zebralights from back in the day. They have many options, they're light, have simple UI and are modding friendly if you're into that. I have a bunch of them and few that have custom drivers and LEDs.
