Whats your favorite headlamp?

I second the sofirn. Only complaint is the weight..its a tad heavy
Lighter than my comparable fenix lamps. I have been using fenix for awhile because they are the only ones to hold up to the moisture exposure (used hard, put away wet) but got a sofrin last year and so far i like it better than my Fenix lamps, the flood setting on the sofrin is quite a bit better, and it’s lived through a good amount of moisture, lots of wearing it in the rain and sitting in a wet pack for a few days, and nothing weird yet

At this point, if it failed tomorrow I’d buy another, it is a really nice lamp, and has the best flood setting with a really broad, even beam and great contrast.

I use a Black Diamond Storm. It can use a rechargeable pack or AAA batteries. White, green, red & blue lights, lock out feature so it wont accidentally turn on in your pocket, flood and spot light setting and remembers what setting you used last when you turn it back on. Some reviews complain about the circle in the center of the spot light, i see what they are talking about but it doesn’t bother me. I live in Alaska and use it almost everyday in the winter months, it gets a lot of use. Ill get about 4 days out of a single charge, never ran it on just AAA’s. Its done pretty well in the cold temps too, I walk my dogs even when its -30.

I use fenix, acebeam, or zebralight mainly but have Petzl and Princeton tech on a couple of SAR helmets. One can get brighter headlights cheaper but I've seen failures with other brands especially in pouring rains after several hours. Reliability is the most important feature.

Their stuff is top notch. Have had 1 for 10yrs probably. Flashlights, flood lights, battery’s, headlamps. Favorite feature is you can twist lens to spot or flood. Top notch gear

I had the chance to test the Last Light against my other headlamps tonight. Made sure the battery was fully charged in all then waited for the neighborhood to be nice and dark. Slight drizzle so no moon or other light.

I would put the last light above Peax and below the Sofirn H25L which has been my standard light for 4-5 years and what I’m trying to improve on.
Last light is a whiter light and has a lot of light but illuminates a little less at distance than H25L. I do like the user interface more than Peax.

Fenix HM 62-T handily out does last light and if you want more distance, Sofirn HS11 and the next step but larger size is Sofirn HS21.

Nitecore HC33 here. Very minimal body so low weight but really shines out well. It’s a flood no beam. IMG_4877.jpeg

I love my zebra light. It can throw a ton of light, 18650 rechargeable.

Often when looking for something that will do but is not as bulky I just use a black diamond spot.

Have you tried the Sofirn H35R? I have also been using the H25s for several years, bought a couple H35s last fall and definitely prefer them.

No it’s on the short list. I was thinking it’s essentially a last light but the leds could be different. Next order I was going to add one

Have been using the Fenix HM50R V2 for the last few years and really like it.
Recently added the PD25R for everyday. It takes the same battery as the HM50R so I can carry it as a spare.
The new HM53R looks interesting.

I've used a Petzl Reaktik for nearly 10 years. I've used it on many hunting trips, and it's still going strong. Features I like: automatic brightness/dimming based on the distance to the ground, button lock so it doesn't turn on accidentally while traveling, and red light option.

Older nu25 nitecore

Me too, the HIGH CRI diode is a very unique and highly underrated feature.

The new ones don't have it, and I miss it.

Any low output, HIGH CRI alternatives out there?

EDIT:

I found a NU20 Classic on Amazon, not sure if it's a re-release or what, but I will order one to try.

Not cheap, but I honestly have a hard time strapping anything else to my dome 🤣
