What's your elk schedule?

For the first time in many years, work has come into my September window. It could be a lot worse, but my ability to time the weather, etc is out this year. I have no choice, all in from the 2nd until the 14th, and that's all I got. That second week should get me into some bugles hopefully. I feel bad for my partner, as elk hunting is his year.

What is your elk window look like this year?

Helping a friend here this opening weekend then next week head to AZ for three weeks, then back here for the last few days.

I plan to lay low until March and then apply for the lottery again.

I’m hitting it hard the 13-22nd. Generally mid month is full swing rut in our unit of Wyoming.

5 more sleeps then wake up and kill a 280"+. I have 2nd-9th with the option of calling out 10th-16th.

Start hunting on August 30, hunt every day of the season, or until I kill one. A perk of retirement and having a tolerant wife.

Hunt on my days off and then sept 20-26. First year I have been able to take a whole week off and hunt.

5-15, but honestly might be calling for buddies or getting out for an hour here or there with two little ladies under 2, then I might get the last 3 days of the season if tags are still not punched

Wife's November Cow tag
Extra short range cow tag in December.

Sept 14-18 and 21-25 backpack trips for elk. Various weekends and extended weekends through rifle season to fill remaining elk/deer tags as needed until freezers are full.

Helping a buddy in Wyoming 9/1 - 9/7. My boy turns 10 on 9/9, never miss that. Work trip the week following. Then to Montana for myself 9/20-29. I'll head home after that if my wife invites me back.

Heading out at noon on Friday. Should be setting up camp Saturday morning. Will be hunting 2-14. If I was solo, I’d be there until the 21st.
