What's the one item you can't do without on a hunting trip?

As a life-long chapstick junkie... there is a hack if you leave it behind: You can find little bits of your body's own oil at the top of your forehead on either side, as well as behind your ears. Gets oilier as the days go by! Works best if you can rinse the salt off from sweat first. Saved me a few times over the years from the dreaded "chapped lips mouth ring of doom."
Only problem is after a couple heavy days of sweating, behind your ears smells like your feet.

Call me a freak, haven’t needed chapstick in a couple decades.

To answer the question it would be my fleece neck gaiter. Just cutting the chill of your face can make a huge difference in your overall body temperature. Also might be why I haven’t needed chapstick.

I just started using the black Buffalo stuff Rinella is advertising. Give it a shot. Me and two of my buddies are switching. Taste really good and has Nicotine in it. No bad stuff from the tobacco.

That shit is potent, almost too potent for me.

Pocket knife, I have one on me or close (attached to cooler while at the beach and I’m in swim trunks) almost everywhere I go. (Stupid government buildings and some “karen” places I’m taken by family - planes (put one in check baggage though) and Disney World, etc. 2) pistol, one is always close, leave it alone, dasa, it’s loaded, it’s hot, there is no safety.

That's one reason I wear merino boxer briefs and bottoms......never a problem.

Outside of all my camping gear and pack etc, I've got to have my bugle tube and mouth reeds. Without those, I'm just wasting my time out there.

Agreed 100% on wool undies.

Not so much on calls.
